Today, Rock and I first visited one of our elderly friends in her home.  We know visits with Rock are comforting to her, even when she isn’t able to tell us. After visiting her, he took a dip and then a nap in “his” chair. Later in the day, Rock and I visited another of our elderly friends, who loves to have Rock visit. She has his favorite cookies at the ready (and always checks to make sure it’s OK to give him one). We know she misses her dogs and looks forward to visits from Rock and Mozey. What a great day we had today!

Mozey is on a brief medical break from pet therapy. She is fine, but she is taking a topical medication, and we want to make sure it doesn’t get on anyone during a visit. So, she’s on vacation for a couple weeks until she finishes her medication.

Memorial Day 2017: It was a rainy, cold day today here on the island, so Rock made a home visit to one of our community members who is in her 90s. He visits with this individual about once a week or so, as she doesn’t get out and about any more. She is an animal lover and always seems to like having Rock visit. (Mozey also visits, but it was Rock’s turn today.) Sometimes, she asks questions and other times, she likes to look at Rock, who then stands in her sight line so she can see him. We both enjoyed spending time with her and look forward to visiting again soon.
